Salvation - Dexterity unto Good Works Foreordained

Introduction

Taking time to review our considerations of the purposes of God for all that He does is critical to our maximum usage and profitability. Some traditional denominational beliefs have caused us to hastily conclude on some stands and given answers without care. One such example is why we are saved the way we have been. Religion has hastily considered heaven to be the main and final reason for our salvation which has turned Christian living into all kinds of thinking and ideologies. However, our theme scripture, Ephesians 2:10, is clearly clear on the matter without mincing words, as confirmed by Titus 2:14. A fair understanding of the calendar of God, which is a done deal but now unfolding, will help our comprehension so well. Matthew 16:1-3 expresses disgust at religion’s deliberate intent to lift no finger to understand the calendar of God. The numerous ‘in those days’ of the Old Testament and the ‘Now’ or But Now’ of the New Testament are some of the pointers to God’s calendar. Pay attention, therefore, going forward as we discuss this with thoroughness.

Carefully examining this small theme scripture reveal a five part so condensed in truth about us namely:

  1. We are His workmanship
  2. Created in Christ
  3. Unto good works
  4. God hath before ordained
  5. That we should walk in

We are His workmanship:

This word translated workmanship ‘poiema’ is the word from which the word poem is derived. This means we are His figurative language in expressiveness of Himself and His truth. Jesus in Hebrews 1 was named as the now poem or language of God in contrast and we are not just His ‘locum tenens’ but His ambassadors. Other words that this word interprets into are as follows:

  • Art Work – An image that is created to be beautiful to express an idea or present a message.
  • Handicraft – An activity making something engaging every skill in embedded in you.
  • Pet-Project – A person treated with unusual, cherished, domesticated kindness and consideration.
  • Masterful Creativity – Exhibition of control, competence, dominance and power in ingenuity (Isaiah 43:4).

Additional interpretation of the expression is that which is done with the heart, pleasure, energy and time taking. Again, it has the meaning of using the best quality materials to bring about a thing.

Created in Christ:

To create, in this case, is to establish a new one in a new place. Speaks to one that is totally new. Then also pointing to one that has never been used whatsoever (2 Corinthians 5:17). Created in Christ means, in principle, there is not an old thing alive in your life. The old is gone. In Christ says that all things outside Christ are irrelevant except souls (Galatians 6:15, Colossians 3:10-11). Created in Christ means receiving the full compliments of the Godhead (Ephesians 3:19, Colossians 2:9-10). Created in Christ speaks to being born in the anointing (2 Corinthians 1:21).

Unto good works:

Not through good works but unto good works, not of but for good works (Titus 3:5-8). Not good deeds but excellent, distinguished, honourable, usable employment, enterprise or business (Romans 3:20). It’s just as was testified of Jesus in Acts 10:38. Good works in Acts 10:38 mean philanthropy, Benefaction, and Salutary. We are, therefore, philanthropists and benefactors by birth (2 Corinthians. 9:8, Colossians 1:10, 2 Thessalonians. 2:17, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Titus 2:7, 14).

Before ordained:

Before is an admission of a well-planned agenda which was just waiting for due season. Hence the claim “In the fullness of time. Ephesians 3:9-10. Before further confirms our destiny with God that has always been determined in Grace (2 Timothy 1:9), and is now time to manifest verse 10. This is to establish that we are not an impulse action of God. Psalms 139:16.

Ordained buttresses the fact that this long plan is:

  •  Set in order per rule,
  •  Decreed,
  •  Established,
  •  Vested – 1 Corinthians 2:7, Hebrews 4:3

Walk in them:

Translated ‘walk in them’ has the following interpretation:

  1. Make one’s way
  2. Make due use of opportunity
  3. Regulate one’s Life by conduct One’s self through – Matthew 28:19

This brings us to terms with the truth that a new set of principles now controls our way of doing things. Walk in them heightens our difference from the world by walking into our history instead of walking out of history (Romans 12:2). Establishing that our destiny of good works is fix for us to crave to walk into (Titus 3:8, 14).
